Olive Oil Uses

The delicious flavor, fruity aroma, and everything we already know about extra virgin olive oil are consequences of one fundamental feature: it is juice extracted from a fruit, and as such, it maintains the nutritional values and taste of the original fruit.

A product with the characteristics of Eliá oils can be enjoyed alone, over bread, as a dressing for vegetables, or to fry as is habitual in the Mediterranean cuisine. Olive oils are the oils most fit for this kind of cooking process as they resist higher temperatures and therefore impregnate less fat into foods, producing healthier and tastier dishes. It is important to bear in mind that when frying, one must not mix old oils with new ones, neither mix olive oils with other types of oil as they have different smoke points and those oils that burn first damage olive oil.

We must filter the oil after each time we use it for frying to discard food remains that favor the oil’s oxidation. It would be advisable not to use the same oil more than two to three times so as to make the most of its natural benefits and to maintain fresh flavors.
